The CS Division of DoPT have issued Guidelines on the procedure/eligibility etc for appointment to the post of Private Secretaries/Officer on Special Duty in the personal establishment of Union Ministers. In addition these guidelines, several further instructions have been issued by this Division from time to time involving regulation of tenure of Private Secretaries/OSDs and other related matters.  These instructions have been compiled and indicated below:-
