EO (FA-UN) Section of EO Division, DOPT deals with the issues of grant of permission of the competent authority to the Government servants to undertake foreign assignments (long term/short term) with International/UN organizations etc. and also to fill up the Foreign and Captive Posts of the Government of India in the International/UN organizations and Indian Missions/Posts abroad. The instructions/guidelines to this effect have been issued by EO(FA-UN) Section from time to time, and the same have been compiled altogether in the form of "HANDBOOK OF CONSOLIDATED INSTRUCTIONS ON FOREIGN ASSIGNMENTS" and linked below:
